Asian cycle tour operator SpiceRoads has launched a new itinerary to Sikkim, the mountain state in northern India. The new 10-day ‘Cycling Sikkim’s Tea Trails’ tour has been devised as an alternative to Tibet, following China’s ban on foreign tourists to the region, which SpiceRoads revealed has forced it to cancel two of its Kathmandu-Lhasa tours.
The Sikkim tour will take riders 330km over six cycling days, along with trips to lakes, local tea plantations and the colonial hill station of Darjeeling.
