Swiss-Garden International has been appointed to manage two hotels in Penang.

The Malaysian island’s Gurney Resort Hotel & Residences and The Northam All Suite will be rebranded as The Gurney Resort Hotel & Residences by Swiss-Garden International and The Northam All Suite by Swiss-Garden International respectively.

The rebrandings mark the entry of the Swiss-Garden brand in Penang.

“Our business strategy focuses on expanding our management services and brand in key cities and destinations. Our brand appeals and target to different market segments with four distinctive brand labels namely the Swiss-Garden Hotel, Swiss-Garden Residences, Swiss-Garden Resort and Swiss-Inn. The introduction of our brand portfolio will create visibility and presence for the group especially in a popular destination like Penang,” said the company’s President, Andrew Wong.

The 259-apartment Gurney Resort Hotel & Residences is located on Gurney Drive, one of Penang’s main seafront entertainment areas, while The Northam All Suite features 142 rooms and suites in Georgetown.

Swiss-Garden International currently manages and operates 10 hotels in Malaysia and Australia, but is expecting to expand this further with the addition of new properties in Melaka, the Cameron Highlands, Kuala Lumpur and Kuantan over the next three years. Once all these properties are up and running, the company’s inventory is expected to increase 50% to approximately 3,000 rooms.
