India’s Taj Hotels has unveiled its first luxury Vivanta by Taj brand in Malaysia, with the addition of a resort on the island of Langkawi.
The former Rebak Island Resort has now been rebranded as Vivanta by Taj Rebak Island, Langkawi, becoming the world’s 29th Vivanta by Taj hotel and the first in Southeast Asia. The only resort on Rebak Island – one of 99 islands in the Langkawi archipelago – Vivanta by Taj overlooks the Andaman Sea and has its own beach.
The resort’s rooms are set in clusters surrounded by palm trees, and guests are offered a range of activities including trips on a private yacht, nature tours around the island or visits to local villages. Diners can choose to set up a table in any part of the island, and will be served by the resort’s chefs.
The resort located 4km from the main island of Langkawi and 15 minutes boat ride from Port Langkasuka.
Following the addition of the new resort, Vivanta by Taj now operates in four countries: India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Malaysia.
