Two of Asia’s biggest hospitality names, Taj and Shangri-La, have officially integrated their guest loyalty programmes.
In a reception at The Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, Shangri-La’s acting president, Madhu Rao, and Taj’s managing director & CEO, Rakesh Sarna, formally unveiled “Warmer Welcomes” – the merger of Shangri-La’s Golden Circle and Taj’s InnerCircle loyalty schemes across the two companies.
Under the terms of the deal, members of the two programmes will be offered benefits and the ability to earn points when staying at more than 200 Shangri-La or Taj properties in 131 destinations worldwide. In addition, members are able to convert and redeem points for stays at both companies’ hotels.
Golden Circle and InnerCircle members must first link their account to the other programme on the new website, warmerwelcomes.com.
To launch the alliance, members of both programmes will be able to earn triple on bookings from now through 30 June 2017.
