Technological advancements, innovation focus of Airport Show 2012

The latest technology and innovations in the aviation industry coupled with new airport projects will be the focus of the forthcoming Airport Show 2012 to be held from May 22nd – 24th, 2012 in Dubai. The three-day event will have key companies present at the seminars.
TMT Management GmbH will discuss the World’s First Mobile Passenger Terminal, a tent-style construction, with check-in desks and computers for self-registration. The terminal was implemented February last year at the Geneva International Airport by the Austrian company to solve temporary capacity challenges at both large and small airports.
Pakistan Civil Aviation and Multan International Airport will examine the development of the New Benazir Bhutto International Airport, the first green-field airport project of Pakistan, and the upgrading of Multan International Airport infrastructure for B-747/B-777 operation.
Subsequently, Munich Airport will offer their expertise on the importance of management and staff training for the start up of new airport facilities, while German company MATERNA IPS will provide a perspective of next generation/baggage drop-off.
Other discussion will include Robots in Baggage Handling, Fiber to the Office (FTTO) for large buildings, Runway Friction Testing, enhancing the Air Travel Experience for Passengers with Reduced Mobility (PRMs), Airside and Landside Solutions among others.
The Airport Show-2012 is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman of Emirates Airline and Group and will witness participation of over 210 exhibitors.
