Getting to Cusco, Peru

Photo: Cusco is an architectural marvel

Most international flights arrive via Lima, Peru’s capital, with connections to Cusco. Here’s how to reach Peru from major global hubs:

•London / Paris – Iberia (via Madrid) or LATAM Airlines (via São Paulo or Madrid)

•Sydney – LATAM via Santiago or Qantas via Dallas/LAX

•Washington D.C. / New York – American, Delta, LATAM or United via hubs in Miami or Houston

•Toronto / Vancouver – Air Canada via Bogotá or LATAM via Santiago

•Cape Town / Johannesburg – via São Paulo or Europe (Madrid/Amsterdam)

•Tokyo – via the US or LATAM via Santiago or Mexico City

Tips for All Routes:

•Book all legs on one ticket if possible (with LATAM, American, or Iberia) to protect against missed connections.

•Lima (LIM) is the main international gateway to Peru; from there, LATAM, Sky Airline, and JetSMART offer frequent 1.5-hour domestic flights to Cusco.

•Use alliance partners like Oneworld (e.g., Qatar, Iberia, American) or SkyTeam (e.g., KLM, Delta, LATAM) for smoother baggage handling and check-in processes.

From Asia, getting to Cusco, Peru (CUZ) from Bangkok, Singapore, India and Hong Kong for instance, requires at least one or two international layovers, as there are no direct flights from Asia to Peru. But the destination is well worth this slight inconvenience.

Note: Iberia is offering Skål members a 10% discount on flights to Lima.

Details and conditions available on the Congress website.
