The latest industry appointments
ROSS VEITCH has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of Wego.com. Veitch co-founded the business with Craig Hewitt in 2005 following a six year stint with Yahoo! Southeast Asia. He previously served as Wego’s Chief Product Officer.
ALLEN LAW has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Park Hotel Group. Law, who is a graduate of the University of London, joined Park in 2004. He has since been named Hospitality Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 at the HAPA awards.
PETER KOH has been announced as the new Asian Regional Chair of the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE). Koh is currently Global Travel Manager of Standard Chartered Bank based in Singapore, and will be chairman for two years.
CHATTAN KUNJARA NA AYUDHYA has been named as the new Director of its International Public Relations for the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Chattan moves to the new role having spent the last four years as Director of TAT’s Delhi Office.
HAITHAM AL SUBAIHI has been announced as the new as Vice President Sales, Central USA, for Etihad Airways. A UAE national, Al Subaihi will be based at the airline’s Washington DC office. Etihad will launch flights to the US capital this month.
KEITH HARDIE has been appointed General Manager of the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Bangkok. With more than 32 years’ experience, 18 of which have been with Starwood, Hardie has worked in the UK, Fiji, Egypt, Philippines and China.
APICHART ASA has been named as the new General Manager of the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort & Villas. A Thai national, Apichart has worked in hotels across the country, and previously served as General Manager of the Metadee Resort in Phuket.
TIM BROWNE has been appointed as General Manager of the Grand Mercure Puka Park Resort, on New Zealand’s Coromandel Peninsular. Browne spent the past 20 years working in operational roles in hotels and high-end restaurants in Australia and overseas.
RAJESH GOPALAKRISHNAN has been named Resident Manager of Novotel Hyderabad Airport. Having started as a chef, he has 19 years’ experience. He most recently served as Hotel Manager of the Mercure Hyderabad Abids.
GEORGE REAINTHONG has been appointed Director of Marketing Communications at the Conrad Bangkok. A Thai and American citizen, Reainthong has a 16-year career, most recently as Cluster Director of Marketing Communications for Marriott Hotels.
MANOJ RAVEENDRANATH has been named as the new Director of Sales & Marketing for the Rendezvous Stafford Hotel Sydney and The Marque Hotel Sydney. He moves to Rendezvous following a spell with the Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport.
LUCY THORPE has been appointed Marketing Communications Manager at The Langham Auckland. Ms Thorpe returns to New Zealand following a four-year spell in London where she worked in marcoms for the education, banking and charity sectors.
