MICHAEL THAMM has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Costa Group, which includes Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises and Ibero Cruises. Thamm, who currently serves as CEO of AIDA, takes over from Pier Luigi Foschi on 1 July 2012.
NICHOLAS CLAYTON has been named as Jumeirah Group’s new Chief Operating Officer. Clayton joins Dubai-based Jumeirah from the Viceroy Hotel Group where he served as both President and CEO. He has also spent 14 years with Ritz-Carlton.
HUSSEIN DABBAS has been appointed as IATA’s new Regional Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), effective 1 June 2012. Dabbas, whose career spans three decades, has served as President & CEO of Royal Jordanian since 2009.
GRAHAM BLACK has been named as Ascott’s new Country General Manager for Vietnam. No stranger to Ascott, Black was the company’s General Manager in Sydney from 2003 to 2007, and has also held senior roles with Stamford, Hyatt and Starwood.
MASSIMO MORECHINI has been announced as the new Director of Rooms at the Raffles Hotel Singapore. An Italian national, Moreschini arrives from the UK where he served as Rooms Division Director of Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.
ANDREA GREYBANKS has joined the Raffles Hotel Singapore as its new Director of Sales & Marketing. A British national, Ms Greybanks has extensive experience and previously served as Mandarin Oriental’s Regional Director of Sales for the Middle East.
CARL MIDDLETON has been named as the new Executive Chef at the Hilton Sydney. The move marks a return to Hilton for Chef Carl, who previously worked for the London Hilton on Park Lane. Most recently, he was Executive Chef at the Lilianfels Resort.
PRAWATE KHUMCHART has been appointed Director of Sales & Marketing for the Rest Detail Hotel Hua Hin. Khun Jack, as he is better known, has 18 years’ experience, most recently as Cluster Director of Sales for Courtyard by Marriott Resorts Thailand.
GIOVANNI ALESSANDRO IURIG has been named as the new Executive Pastry Chef at the JW Marriott Bangkok. With more than 20 years of international experience, the Italian chef will now head up the hotel’s Bangkok Baking Company pastry shop.
