The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay will join Marriott’s high-performing portfolio of five existing properties in Fiji, including Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay; Sheraton Denarau Villas; Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort; Sheraton Resort & Spa, Tokoriki Island, Fiji; and The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa, Fiji which is scheduled to reopen later this year.

Entering an exciting phase of expansion

Marriott International’s vice-president of hotel development for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Richard Crawford said of this development:“It is exciting to reach an agreement to debut The Ritz-Carlton in one of the world’s most desirable destinations. With Fiji experiencing significant growth in visitor numbers, market profile, and infrastructure, now is the ideal time to introduce Marriott’s luxury portfolio to the island. The government’s clear and coordinated commitment to sustainable tourism and quality hotel development is driving strong investor interest and attracting top-tier global brands. We expect the local benefits of this investment to be far-reaching, and we are confident that The Ritz-Carlton brand has the global cachet to attract new affluent travel markets to Fiji.”

Marriott’s director of development in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Tristan Cooper added: “As the largest resort operator in Fiji, we have historically focused on our elevated premium brands, such as Marriott, Sheraton, and Westin. However, to cater to even more discerning travelers, we are eager to secure footholds for our luxury portfolio, particularly The Ritz-Carlton. It is therefore exciting to have the chance to deliver on this objective, at a stunning beachfront location on the Coral Coast. The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay will be a truly world-class offering, delivering the legendary service the brand is known for and the very best resort facilities in the country. The timing couldn’t be better, with our current resort portfolio in Fiji enjoying record-high occupancy levels, and our nearly 245 million Marriott Bonvoy members seeking even more choices and luxury experiences.”

An exquisite location

The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay will be situated in the heart of the spectacular Coral Coast occupying a 28-hectare beachfront site, just over an hour’s drive from Nadi International Airport.

Offering beachfront access set against a mountainous jungle backdrop for private tranquility, the resort will deliver the brand’s vision to inspire life’s most meaningful journeys and is positioned to be the most luxurious resort on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu.

Designed to reflect the Fijian culture and heritage, the resort is set to comprise 166 guest rooms and suites, most featuring picturesque ocean views.

In addition, 83 villas are anticipated to feature a private plunge pool and outdoor deck, whilst the 480 square metre Presidential Villa expects to showcase a 186 square metre private pool, large balcony and yoga lounge.

Plans are also in the works for restaurants offering seven diverse culinary experiences on the property.

At The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay, guests can look forward to accessing outstanding recreational facilities supporting wellness and well-being, including two large pools; an exercise area; yoga studio, tennis courts; a bespoke children’s recreation centre for the brand’s signature Ritz Kids programming; and The Ritz-Carlton Spa with plans to feature eight treatment rooms, sauna, dip pools and a salon.
