A third of Brits would like to have Christmas in another country although only one in 10 plan to go away for the big day this year, a new survey has found.
Many of the group who said they would like to get away over Christmas told Wyndham Vacation Rentals that they could not afford a holiday during that time, but wanted to escape the cold for warmer climes.
Naturally beach holidays were the most popular choice with the Canary Islands and Italian countryside amongst some of the favoured options. Ski breaks and long-haul destinations like Orlando were also choices.
“The research indicates there is a growing trend of people wanting to broaden their horizons and experience different Christmas traditions in other countries as well as taking the opportunity to grab a bit of winter sunshine,” said Geoff Cowley, managing director for Wyndham Vacation Rentals UK.
