Travel wholesaler Tourico Holidays is eyeing up new contracts and a potential acquisition to fuel its growth in the coming years, it has revealed.
Speaking to Travel Daily ahead of World Travel Market, Lauren Volcheff, vice president of marketing at Tourico hinted at an acquisition to stay ahead in what is now a competitive bedbank market. However, at this week’s show it will focus on its rental home and Direct Connect services for the trade, the former of which has boomed in the last year.
“We are the first company to put an end to allocation on arrival in the vacation home market and we allow agents to book an exact property and room so the room is guaranteed. All the properties are professionally managed and the booking process is like booking a hotel,” she explained. “Now clients can ‘be a local’ anywhere, in Europe we have 1,300 rooms in Switzerland; 4,000 in France and 2,600 in Italy.”
In the hotel market Tourico has expanded its contracts with large hotel chains including Hyatt, Wyndham and now Accor. The company is looking for a solid end to the year with sales up 18% and Volcheff attributing its success to a new team combined with its technology with these two bedbank initiatives. A new website is also due to launch soon.
