The Great Barrier Reef is Queensland’s best know tourist attraction
Tourism Queensland has released a discussion paper, seeking wider industry input on how best to snare a greater share of the China outbound market. The authority is assessing opportunities and challenges facing the industry as it develops its new Project China Strategy. Tourism, Manufacturing and Small Business Minister Jan Jarratt said industry feedback is critical in raising marketing efforts in China.
Ms Jarratt said; “Sustainably growing our share of the China market and giving Chinese visitors a great experience involves everyone and I want industry to have their say, with consultation open until December.
?The discussion paper raises issues from better catering for Chinese travellers to diversifying target markets such as attracting different age groups and destinations. Input will be fed into the resulting Project China Strategy, which will map out Tourism Queensland’s long-term vision to increase its share of the estimated AU$9 billion from Chinese visitors to Australia by 2020.
