Travel agents arrested over ticket scam
The railway protection force (RPF) has arrested the owners of two tour and travel agencies in Pune and seized 118 railway reservation tickets worth Rs 1.14 lakh, according to The Times of India.
Divisional security commissioner of RPF, Ashok Kumar Rai, has begun a drive to tackle the growing problem of touts in the region.
Two teams headed by inspector of RPF K D More and inspector (crime) RPF Praveen Kasbe were formed to conduct the raids.
Inspector Kasbe told the paper that he received tip-off about the two tour and travel agencies in Pune and seized 78 railway reservation tickets worth Rs 64,515 from the tour and travel agency in Laxminagar.
Forty railway reservation tickets worth Rs 49,736 were also seized from an agency in Kothrud.
