Travel Counsellors has reported an innovative social media marketing campaign that encourages people to share their holiday experiences has proven extremely successful in boosting social engagement and driving sales for the company’s agents.
The campaign – #TCexperience – focuses on helping its Travel Counsellors re-connect with its customers by asking them to share their experience of booking and travelling using their services via photos and stories through social media channels. Engagement rates through the company channels alone were boosted by 80% on Facebook and 50% on Twitter, with individual Travel Counsellors reporting high engagement on their own social channels as well as boosting new enquiries for their businesses.
Travel Counsellors were also able to send their customer a personalised ‘memories’ brochure, using the campaign’s user-generated content to showcase a host of destinations and properties from a truly first hand perspective.
Travel Counsellor Emma Parry-Thorpe commented: “The campaign was great in helping me connect with customers in a fun and engaging way. It’s lovely to hear how much people appreciate the really personal service I can provide as a Travel Counsellor, and the special experiences and memories I help them create, and more importantly that they want to share this with others. Sending the brochure out has so far resulted in bookings of over £20k and more importantly has helped me to re-connect with customers and remind them about the service I provide. I’ve had my best June and July since starting my business, and I do believe the marketing has played a large part in this.”
Over 200 photos have been submitted so far by customers and the company has reported over 200 bookings being made as a direct result of the campaign. It is also seeing positive sales for summer 2016, with leisure sales to date up 8% compared to summer 2015.
