Travel firms receive “best for” accolades

Thirteen travel and hotel companies have made the Sunday Times list of the UK’s best to work for.
Holiday Extras was ranked as the top travel company in the 100 Best Companies list at 19th, up from 45th last year.
The add-ons provider was followed by new entry Expedia.com at 22nd; Red Carnation Hotel Collections at 26th (71st in 2012) and The Savoy at 39th (from 44th).
Travel agency groups Flight Centre and Barrhead Travel also made the list at 52nd and 67th respectively.
In the 25 Best Big Companies rankings, IHG and Premier Inn owners Whitbread were both new entries at third and 10th respectively.
Bourne Leisure moved from 13th in 2012 to 4th this year, while Hilton dropped from 18th to 22nd.
The Midcounties Co-operative and American Express UK, both of which include travel divisions, came in at 13th and 12th respectively.
