Business travel policies that focus on the traveller stress levels first will be the most innovative and increase productivity, according to a new report unveiled today.
In the Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) analysis, productivity could be improved by 32% if traveller well-being is balanced against work when using its CWT Travel Stress Index (CTSI).
The group will now use the index to assess its clients stress levels and provide tips to drive reducing stress alongside cost savings. These could include using an airline that has a low record of baggage mishandling or good punctual record.
“We have discovered that we can help our clients control and impact, on average, 32% of this portion of lost time and productivity,” said Vincent Lebunetel, head of CWT Solutions Group, EMEA.
“We encourage companies to view business travel as a strategic means to grow and compete effectively in the marketplace, while at the same time recognising that business travel has an impact on a company’s most important asset – its employees,” he added.
The index has been accumulated from nine different sources including 15 million air transactions and demographic information and then analysed for 22 different activities.
