UAE elected to chair ACAC

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) attended the fourth meeting of the Arab Civil Aviation Commission’s (ACAC’s) environment committee in the presence of representatives of Arab civil aviation authorities in Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Yemen as well as representatives of ACAC.
The meeting reviewed significant challenges facing local and international environment in relation to civil aviation elements and necessity to establish laws and regulations to deal with such challenges. It was also highlighted to create a sustainable environment and reviewed global environmental issues in relation to gas emissions and relevant meetings held by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
HE Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, said, “The selection of UAE to chair this important committee for the second time reflects GCAA’s environmental role and efforts to set advanced legislations and standards. The UAE was one of the Arab states supporting the formation of this committee in order to enhance environmental issues in civil aviation.” Al Suwaidi Added.
