The United Arab Emirates (UAE) represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has signed an Air Services Agreement (ASA) with the Government of Georgia in Dubai.
The agreement was signed by HE Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi – director general of the UAE GCAA and HE George Karbelashvili – deputy minister of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The signed ASA allows full flexibility on routes, capacity, number of frequencies and types of aircraft, in any type of service (passenger or cargo) including the exercise of fifth freedom traffic rights.
HE Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of open sky agreements like the one signed with Georgia, which contributed to boosting the trade, tourism and investment between UAE and Georgia, taking into account that now Flydubai and Georgian Airways operate direct services between the two countries.
UAE now has air services agreements with 146 countries, of which 104 are open skies or fully liberal arrangements.
