UAE’s TI’ME Hotels targets China
TI’ME Hotels Management is aiming to increase the number of Chinese guests at its UAE hotels.
The company, which currently operates six hotels in the UAE – five in Dubai and one in Sharjah – has undertaken a range of methods to boost its share of Chinese clientele, including employing Mandarin-speaking staff, accepting Chinese debit cards, and equipping all its rooms and suites with a hot water kettle, which it claims is “essential for every Chinese traveller” making pot noodles and other hot snacks.
“We… have seen a significant increase of inbound Chinese business to our Dubai properties over the last 12 months, with the TI’ME Grand Plaza in Al Qusais reporting an 86% rise in room nights year-to-date from leisure visitors,” said the company’s Area Vice President, Mohamed Awadalla. “Our Al Barsha property, has been witnessing a rise in Chinese corporate business, especially long-staying guests,” he added.
TI’ME will also participate in next month’s inaugural Chinese Visitor Summit, which is expected to bring more than 75 Chinese travel buyers together with UAE tourism providers.
