The latest staff appointments in the UK travel industry.
Ian Simmonds has been named as the new chief financial officer at Travel Republic in a series of changes at the online travel agent. Elliott Pritchard has been named as chief marketing officer and Adam Gill as chief technology officer in the changes, which sees Kane Pirie and Chris Waite leave and Paul Furner become CEO. The changes come as the OTA plots its international expansion.
Patrick Ryan has been appointed chief operating officer at Swan Hellenic and Voyages of Discovery. He joins the cruise brands from Island Cruises where he was managing director and has also held roles at Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.
Tom Hawes has joined Peregrine tours as business development manager. Hawes will develop sales schemes for the Peregrine Adventures, Geckos Adventures and Peregrine Reserve brands. Hawes previously held roles at PEAK Adventure travel and Nomadic Adventure Travel.
Mark Searle has been appointed as the UK sales manager for Pacific World. Searle will focus on developing the MICE company’s business in EMEA destinations and will report to head of sales Maria del Campo.
John Owens has been named as senior vice president, distribution sales at Pegasus Solutions. Owens has worked at Pegasus in various roles previously and has also held director positions at TravelClick and Lanyon.
Douglas Steenland has been appointed chairman of Travelport Limited. Steenland was previously vice chairman since August 2011 and assumes the role from Jeff Clarke who will continue to be a director.
Anna Brennand has been promoted to chief executive at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, Shropshire. Brennand was previously deputy CEO and director of finance & resources since joining the museum in 2007.
