India’s decision to allow Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) for international tourist groups visiting India is expected to increase the visitors numbers.
The Indian Association of Tour Operator (IATO) said that the inbound tourism in the country will grow atleast 25% to 35% with the government’s decision to allow VoA for the international tourist groups visiting India.
“For many years, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has been demanding to give Visa on Arrival to foreign tourists. On one side we are spending millions of dollars in promoting tourism and on the other side when the tourists actually want to come, we make it difficult for them to get visas. This issuance of group visas is going to be a first step in the right direction”, said Subhash Goyal, President of IATO.
“Our constant efforts have yielded fruitful results as earlier the 60 days clause was removed, and yesterday it has come in the national press that the government has decided to allow group visas on arrival for foreign tourists. This will increase international tourist arrival numbers to our country”, added Goyal.
