Wizz Air announces a brand-new route connecting London Gatwick with Tirana, Albania, further expanding the airline’s footprint in Southeast Europe. Beginning 26th October 2025, Wizz Air customers will be able to enjoy five flights a week to Tirana, Albania’s vibrant capital, from London Gatwick.
The route will be Wizz Air’s second route to the Albanian city, following the airline's existing connection from London Luton. By adding more routes from the UK, this will provide greater connectivity to Albania, making it easier and more affordable for travellers to explore one of Europe's emerging destinations.
Dubbed the ‘Maldives of Europe’, Albania is home to crystal-clear turquoise waters, white-sand beaches along the Ionian and Adriatic coasts, and untouched natural beauty. With its warm hospitality, Mediterranean cuisine, and rich cultural heritage, the country has fast become a favourite for sun-seekers and adventurers alike.

Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director at Wizz Air UK, said: "We are delighted to announce our new route from London Gatwick to Tirana, adding to our existing routes from London Luton. With Albania increasingly recognised as the ‘Maldives of Europe’, this route allows more of our customers to discover untapped destinations across southeastern Europe.”
“This flight marks our 88th route available from London this year, and we’re proud to continue investing in our airline to provide more affordable and unique travel experiences for our customers.”
Flights will be operated by the Airbus A321neo, the most efficient single-aisle aircraft on the market, providing a quieter, more sustainable journey.
This announcement comes soon after Wizz Air announced five new routes to Spain, as well as the launch of the first-ever direct route to Medina from Gatwick this month.
Tickets will be available soon on wizzair.com and via the Wizz Air mobile app.
