Japan will be holding a Happy Hour at its stand on Mondayafternoon offering sake, Japanese beer, plum wine, sushi and snacks. The drinksand networking opportunity will take place from 5-6pm and will include stafffrom the Japan National Tourist Office, as well as hoteliers, ground handlersand destination representatives. I
n addition, all delegates who visit the standthroughout the show will be given a free Hello Kitty document folder.
WTM willmark eight months since the devastating earthquake in Japan but increasedvisitor figures and the launch of low-cost airlines has boosted JNTO’sconfidence in next year. “We are optimistic 2012 will be a strong year fortourism to Japan. Many people put off holidays to Japan in 2011 due to theearthquake. Now that people are once again confident Japan is safe, we hopemany of those who cancelled 2011 trips will be rebooking trips for 2012,” saidKylie Clark, head of PR and marketing at JNTO’s London office.
