The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is evaluating six prominent cities—Barcelona, Dubai, Geneva, Madrid, Milan, and Paris—as potential locations for its new office. This decision follows strong interest from these cities, reflecting their strategic desire to collaborate closely with WTTC and enhance their roles in the global travel and tourism sector.
The new office aims to provide WTTC with operational benefits, including reduced costs, increased mobility for staff and visiting delegations, and the ability to attract global talent. These advantages are expected to enhance WTTC's responsiveness to sector developments and strengthen partnerships across both established and emerging markets.
Each city has presented compelling incentives, such as favourable business conditions, fiscal benefits, streamlined administrative frameworks, access to a global talent pool, and fast-track visa arrangements. These incentives underscore the readiness of these destinations to host WTTC, promising benefits for both the organisation's members and the broader industry.
Gloria Guevara, WTTC Interim CEO and President, expressed appreciation for the interest shown by these countries, stating, “Their engagement and the incentives they have outlined reflect the value they place on collaborating with WTTC.” Manfredi Lefebvre, WTTC Chairman, added that the new office will serve as a hub for collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development.
The WTTC is conducting a structured assessment process and will announce the final decision on the preferred location in the coming weeks. Further updates will be provided as the evaluation progresses.
