Wyndham Hotel Group is continuing its expansion in China with the signing of franchise agreements for four new Ramada hotels in the country.
The new properties in Chengdu, Huizhou, Kunming and Pingtan will add more than 900 rooms the company’s Chinese inventory, and will take the total number of Ramada hotels in China to 50.
“As China remains an important market for us, we continue to look for growth opportunities in new cities and provinces,” said Frank Trampert, Managing Director of Wyndham Hotel Group in Asia Pacific.
“We are thrilled to announce the signing of these new properties with four different, esteemed and respected mainland developers. We are confident that our collaborations will not only help cement the Ramada brand’s position in China but strengthen the greater Wyndham Hotel Group portfolio in the region,” he added.
All four new hotels will open in 2013. The 293-room Ramada Plaza Chengdu West will form part of a large commercial complex in the at Xingfu Town area of the city, while the 289-room Ramada Huizhou South will be located in Guangdong province, driving distance from both Shenzhen and Guangzhou airports.
The 179-room Ramada Kunming North will be based in a huge 428-hectare development including a horse racing club, two 18-hole golf courses, a conference centre and entertainment facilities, and finally the 150-room Ramada Hotel Pingtan will be situated in Fujian province’s Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, which acts as a free port to attract investors from Taiwan.
Wyndham Hotel Group currently has a portfolio of 517 hotels and over 70,000 rooms in the Asia Pacific region.
