Holiday Extras is rolling out a laptop use scheme for its team in case they are unable to get to its office.
The company is issuing a laptop to one member of each of its teams so employees can still access files and communicate with others through its cloud operating system.
Its rural based offices often makes it difficult for staff to get in and comes after Yahoo! announced it is to clamp down on employees working from home.
“As our business expands and we bring more people into the team, it makes business sense to allow people to work from home, and anything we can do to help them combat the costs of commuting is going to make our workforce happier,” said Matthew Paxton, chief operating officer at Holiday Extras on the scheme.
“On the eve of our 30th Anniversary, we pride ourselves on retaining innovation at our core. Our attitudes are similar to those of a start-up, which means we are flexible and can adapt to the changing needs of staff – and of course a productive team requires flexibility,” he added.
