He will join the management team of the airline which has been led to date by Karsten Balke, chief executive officer and Thomas Wazinski, chief technical officer.
Following the appointment by the board of management, the qualified economist will be in charge of operations. He will also take over as the successor to Sieghard Jähn, who retires as accountable manager. Jähn will continue to act as a consultant to the company.
“We are delighted that this appointment will ensure a smooth transition for the airline,” said Karsten Balke, Germania’s CEO.
“We would like to express our real gratitude to Siggi Jähn for the very good cooperation, his special commitment and the decades worth of achievement experienced by the airline.”
Since October 2014, Clauspeter Schwarz has been working for Germania Fluggesellschaft in the capacity of director of operations, director of emergencies and project manager for strategic projects. Before that, he had worked for the Lufthansa Group.
The management expansion will support Germania during the current fleet expansion and throughout the forthcoming transition, which will result from the delivery from 2020 of 25 pre-ordered A320neo aircraft.
