ADAM ALFORD has been appointed as the Low Cost Travel Group’s new managing director for Asia Pacific. Having been based in Bangkok since 2007, Alford spent six years working with TUI Travel. More recently he was Destinations of the World’s regional sales director for Asia.
GUENTER GEBHARD has been appointed general manager of the One&Only Hayman Island, ahead of the Great Barrier Reef resort’s relaunch in April 2014. Gebhard has more than 20 years’ experience and joined Kerzner International in 2011 as vice president of F&B at Atlantis The Palm, Dubai.
RUDOLF TROSTLER has become the new general manager of the Hilton Pattaya. An Austrian national, Tröstler has worked in hotels across the world, including the UK and Australia, specialising in food & beverage. Prior to joining Hilton Pattaya, he was general manager at Hilton Colombo.
ALAN BALL has been named as the new director of sales & marketing for Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives. He arrives at the luxury resort with a background in travel agency sales, including spells with Abercrombie & Kent and Gulliver’s Sports Travel. He is based in London.
ROLF HINZE has been appointed as Destination Asia’s new head of sales and marketing for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. A German national with more than 30 years of experience, Hinze has previously worked with Shangri-La and Four Seasons, as well as running his own company.
DOUGLAS LI has become the director of sales & marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Beijing. The move marks a promotion for Li, who previously held the role of director of sales at the hotel. Prior to that, he held various sales management roles at St Regis Beijing and Grand Hyatt Beijing.
