Five new Rascals for Indonesian cruise start-up

Perhentian Islands, Malaysia

Indonesian cruise line Rascal Voyages may have only been established in 2017, but in the few months they have been in action the new kids on the block created more than a few ripples with their take on the five-star river cruising along with its first vessel, the Rascal Phinisi.

Allowing guests to curate their own land and sea itineraries, coupled with the elegance of the new boat, the company has been such a hit that Rascal Voyages has now announced that it will be boosting its fleet with five new yachts which the company believes will “push boundaries with five-star expeditions across some of the world’s most undiscovered waters”.

Five-star living on a cruise into an adventure? Count me in.

Like the inaugural Rascal, which has been hosting explorations to Komodo and Raja Ampat over the last year, the new yachts — two of which have already begun construction with completion expected within the next two years – will feature a large superstructure to fit the six double en-suite guest cabins on board as well as the restaurants, leisure and social areas that will available.

These designs will also come with a new special element; an above-water cabin to house the Rascals’ ‘experts in residence’ where guests can choose from a group of diving and marine professionals as well as yoga and surfing instructors to join them on board during the trip.

The first of the two new orders will join Rascal Phinisi serving the Indonesian waters while the other will operate on two routes – Thailand to Myanmar and Singapore to Malaysia, plying the Eastern seaboard of the Malaysian coast with destinations such as Pulau Rawa, Tioman, Redang and Perhentian.

While the remaining three yachts, slated for arrival in 2021, will operate voyages in Indian Ocean and Gulf of Thailand with itineraries into The Maldives and Cambodia.
