Job Description

RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Maximize overall hotel room revenue through development and implementation of effective inventory and pricing strategies based on future demand forecasts, current trends and historical data to drive market share.
  • Implement revenue management strategies and processes in our hotels, in order to optimize and maximize its revenues and the management of the entire central reservations infrastructure.
  • Oversee revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotel and manage day to day yield management strategy.
  • The day to day smooth co-ordination with the hotels and the on-going support for the hotels
  • Monitoring of the market situation at each hotel destination.
  • To enhance revenues of all hotels by increasing turnover through all booking channels, which is measurably attributable.
  • Responsible that each hotel understands and use all distribution systems.
  • To increase traffic on and revenue production through the Corporate Homepage.
  • To ensure best possible Rate Parity throughout the company and across all distribution channels.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Periodically evaluate the prices of their competition. They will also analyze economic trends to determine the demand for hotel reservations based on tourism and business travel.
  • Oversee the activities of the individual hotels and to support them in using various distribution channels.
  • work with front desk personnel to track customer trends and reservations, and communicate with sales teams to gather sales figures.
  • Manage relationship with and to critically evaluate the performance of suppliers on an on-going basis.
  • To manage the on-going implementation of the Ideas Yield System into the agreed hotels and to act as the spokesperson for all yield-related issues.
  • Forecast future demand and pricing trends.
  • Assist in implementing Revenue Management tools (i.e. forecasting tools) in all hotels.
  • Advise, assist, and coordinate with the development of enhanced interfaces between the hotels & Central Reservations System (CRS) / Global Distribution System (GDS) providers and other internet booking engines.
  • Closely monitor competitive pricing and understand the impact of relative pricing decisions on property performance
  • Direct the on-going development of our hotel booking website and other associated booking engines.
  • Ensure monthly reports are produced and delivered in a timely (up-to-date) as required.
  • Act as a consultant to the hotels for all GDS marketing activities and to ensure that appropriate amounts are allocated in their budgets.
  • Ensure that the individual hotels’ web-sites adhere to corporate standards
  • Implement appropriate training programs to ensure that hotels have maximum understanding of all areas of distribution and yield management.
  • Set-up new hotels in the pre-opening phase and to train the respective department heads in order to ensure a smooth opening.
  • Represent the Marketing department and to assist the Marketing with activities and projects as required.
  • Act as a coordinator between the hotels and the CRS/ GDS providers.
  • CRS/ GDS Rate data maintenance, content and quality insurance.
  • Control of content and rate parity of all travel web-sites.
  • Assist agencies with commission claims and requests.
  • Production and analysis of monthly reports as required.
  • Ensure a smooth day to day office operation in the Revenue Department.
  • Organization of a yearly Revenue Managers Conference.
  • Overlooking the Consortia Contracting.
  • Production and updating of the Reservations- and Distribution Manual.
  • Supervision and training of Call Center Agents.
  • Co-ordination of Boutique E-mailings.

REQURIED QUALIFICATION & SKILL SET

  • Bachelors or Master Degree in Hotel Management, Tourism or Economic Studies, e-Commerce, Computer Science or any other related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Hotel Revenue Management experience.
  • A strong command of both written and spoken English is required; additional languages an asset,
  • Highly computer literate with a high level command of Excel.
  • Knowledgeable of hotel technology: PMS, Channel Manager, GDS, CRS, Extranets
  • A Revenue Manager would need excellent analytical, communication, customer service and organizational skills in order to be effective in this position.
  • A Revenue Managers typically conduct meetings and submit reports. They should be strong team leaders who can focus a group on achieving the same goal of creating revenue for a lodging establishment.
  • An attention to detail, above average math skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
