Long-haul travel specialist firm Travelbag reports that, based on several key factors, Thailand is the safest place in the world to visit in 2025.
The online travel platform analysed data from research company Numbeo with regard to local safety ratings, crime levels, and how comfortable people feel walking around in either day or night.
Their research revealed the world’s safest destinations for travellers in 2025, with Thailand leading the top 10.
The world’s ten safest destinations per Travelbag are as follows:
- Thailand
- The Seychelles
- The Philippines
- Sri Lanka
- Vietnam
- India
- Bali, Indonesia
- Canada
- Cambodia
- Turks and Caicos
Key findings
Thailand took the top spot thanks to its welcoming atmosphere, the fact that it had the highest safety night-walking score of all destinations with 61.53 out of 100 points, as well as its well-developed tourism infrastructure.
Close behind, Seychelles impresses with the highest daylight safety score of 82.41 points out of 100, which makes it a dream destination for beach lovers seeking seclusion without sacrificing security.
Surprisingly, given the recent Hellosafe report that claimed it to be the most dangerous destination in the world, the Philippines rounds out the top three with the diverse attractions of its over 7,000 islands, friendly locals, and steadily improving safety measures for travellers who want to combine adventure with peace of mind.
In addition, Sri Lanka and Vietnam took fourth and fifth place respectively, as they continue to attract visitors with their mix of natural beauty and reassuring safety records.
Canada, the only North American destination on the list, proves that friendly cities and open spaces make it a consistent favourite for safe travel.
