Each room is designed to keep up with the pace of modern travel, featuring 55” Smart TVs, ultra-fast Wi-Fi, and plug-and-play connectivity for seamless streaming or work sessions.

With over 1,065 square meters of creative meeting and event space – including a versatile 489-square-meter ballroom for up to 300 guests – Aloft Surabaya Pakuwon City redefines corporate functions, workshops, and celebrations. Each of the seven dynamic venues is equipped with seamless AV, bold design elements, and customizable layouts to spark productivity or play.

Aloft Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s extraordinary portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, proudly debuts in Surabaya with the opening of Aloft Surabaya Pakuwon City – the brand’s first hotel in the city and fifth in Indonesia. Injecting a fresh, energetic rhythm into East Java’s capital, the 233-room hotel delivers an urban-inspired stay experience designed for modern professionals, digital nomads, and next-gen travelers who crave style, substance, and a splash of social buzz.

As the second largest city in Indonesia and the capital of the East Java province, Surabaya is known for its dynamic blend of rich history and modern urban energy, a thriving commercial hub with bustling shopping districts and a growing creative scene. Perfectly situated in the heart of one of East Surabaya’s most dynamic growth corridors, Aloft Surabaya Pakuwon City is located just next to Pakuwon City Mall and minutes away from business parks, and lively lifestyle destinations. Nearby, Park Shanghai – a neon-lit culinary street modeled after the alleyways of old Shanghai – offers a playful mix of Asian street eats, themed photo corners, and modern fusion cuisine. For coastal charm, Pantai Kenjeran and the iconic Suramadu Bridge are just a short drive away for guests seeking a scenic getaway or local cultural exploration.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Aloft brand to Surabaya – Indonesia’s second largest city known for its entrepreneurial spirit, thriving creative scene, and youthful energy,” said Ramesh Jackson, Regional Vice President, Indonesia & Malaysia, Marriott International. “Aloft Surabaya Pakuwon City is a vibrant new addition to our growing portfolio of hotels and resorts in Indonesia, and a perfect reflection of the brand’s bold design, social vibe, and smart, modern approach to hospitality.”

Stylish, social, and anything but ordinary, the new hotel offers an upbeat stay experience for today’s travelers who want more than just a place to sleep. Aloft Surabaya Pakuwon City features 233 loft-inspired guest rooms – each offering high ceilings, sleek lines, and sweeping views of landmarks like Suramadu Bridge and Pagoda Tian Ti. Each room is designed to keep up with the pace of modern travel, featuring 55” Smart TVs, ultra-fast Wi-Fi, and plug-and-play connectivity for seamless streaming or work sessions. With intuitive layouts that make it easy to focus, unwind, or do a bit of both, and stunning city views that mirror the pulse of Surabaya, every space invites guests to stay their way – comfortably connected and always in tune with their surroundings.

Infused with artistic energy, every room showcases a custom mural from Surabaya-based artist Peter Rhian Gunawan (Redmiller Blood). Part of the exclusive Me’rasa Bahagia digital mural series, Peter illustrates a whimsical and joyful world filled with vibrant characters that embody happiness and freedom. At the heart of these murals are Elzo the shark and Keppy the crocodile—personified versions of Suro and Baya, the legendary shark-and-crocodile duo from Surabaya folklore whose epic battle inspired the city’s name. Playfully navigating a colorful landscape alongside Redmiller himself, these characters bring to life themes of local culture, freedom, and imagination in every stay.

Vibe Restaurant, the hotel’s all-day dining spot, serves bold Asian flavors with playful and visually striking plating – from brunch favorites to family-style feasts – all made for social sharing and snapping. The hotel’s social heart beats at the W XYZ® Bar with handcrafted locally inspired cocktails, curated playlists, and a lively atmosphere that makes it the perfect place to mix and mingle. Sip the refreshing yet adventurous Suramadu Sling, or enjoy the creamy and tropical flavors of Kenjeran Breeze cocktail. Upstairs, The Echo Lounge is home to East Surabaya’s highest rooftop lounge, blending elevated mixology with genre-curated music, intimate live acts, and a design that pulses with the rhythm of the night.

Guests can stay energized at Re:charge, a 24-hour fitness center featuring an industrial-chic design and panoramic views, or take a refreshing dip at Splash, the rooftop pool overlooking the city skyline.

“At Aloft Surabaya Pakuwon City, we’re bringing something fresh to the city – a space that’s vibrant, social, and full of personality,” said Reza Aryawarman, Multi-property General Manager of Aloft Surabaya Pakuwon City, Sheraton Surabaya Hotel & Towers, and Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya, Tunjungan Plaza. “From our locally-inspired art to our buzzing social spaces and tech-forward rooms, every detail is designed to help guests feel connected – to the city, to each other, and to what’s next.”
