Israel appoints Galit Hoffman as Tourism Consul for India

The Ministry of Tourism of Israel has appointed Galit Hoffman as the Consul–Tourism Affairs for India, marking a renewed push to strengthen tourism ties between the two countries.  Hoffman brings with her extensive experience across diplomacy, strategic communication, and international market development. She previously served at the Embassy of Israel in New Delhi as Spokesperson and later as Deputy Defence Attaché, where she was instrumental in advancing bilateral cooperation between Israel and India.

According to the statement, in addition to her diplomatic roles, Hoffman has held leadership positions in the private sector. At Mobileye, a global leader in automotive safety and smart mobility solutions, she spearheaded sales and product marketing for the Indian market, gaining firsthand insight into local consumer preferences.

The officials say that as Consul–Tourism Affairs, Hoffman is expected to shape Israel’s tourism promotion strategy in India. She will engage with travel trade partners, airlines, media, and digital platforms to showcase Israel as a diverse, enriching, and accessible global destination.

“India has been part of my journey for many years. I feel fortunate to return once again, and to continue strengthening the special relationship between our two countries. In this new role, I am looking forward to helping more people from India discover Israel, a destination that blends history and innovation, nature and spirit, culture, great culinary, and lots of fun- a mix you won’t find anywhere else,” says Galit.

“Galit brings a rare combination of experience in diplomacy, marketing, and long-standing engagement with the Indian market.
