Khiri Travel, a destination management company based in Southeast Asia, has achieved Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certification across all its operational destinations.
Officially certified on 18 December 2025, the company now meets the highest social and environmental standards in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.
The GSTC certification, conducted by the accredited body Control Union, involved a comprehensive audit of Khiri Travel's office practices and field operations. This included interviews with local partners and suppliers to ensure alignment with Khiri's sustainability goals.

A noteworthy accomplishment
"Achieving certification shows that Khiri’s network of partners and suppliers are aligned with the company’s vision for responsible travel," said Sukhum Jarangdej, Sustainability Coordinator at Khiri Travel.
Willem Niemeijer, CEO and founder of Khiri Travel, emphasised the significance of this achievement: "Certification shows that Khiri is walking the talk on making tourism a force for social and environmental good."
Niemeijer further highlighted the company's dedication to the 4Cs of regenerative travel: conservation, community, culture, and commerce.
The company's commitment to sustainability is further evidenced by 14 staff members earning the GSTC Professional Certificate in Sustainable Tourism in 2025.
