Japanese hotel management firm Hoshino Resorts officially opened OMO5 Yokohama Bashamichi by Hoshino Resorts last 15th January.
The new property is the hospitality firm’s first-ever apartment-style hotel, as well as the OMO brand's first property in Yokohama, Kanagawa.
The opening will be followed later this year by the launch of OMO7 Yokohama, establishing a dual presence for the OMO brand in the city.
Located in front of JR Kannai Station, the property is part of a large-scale redevelopment project transforming the former Yokohama City Hall site.

Every stay is a Sky Voyage
Under the concept of a 360° Sky Voyage, the hotel occupies floors 46 to 51 of a landmark skyscraper directly connected to Bashamichi Station.
Positioned 154 meters above ground, it offers exhilarating panoramic views of Yokohama from both guest rooms and public spaces.
As mentioned, OMO5 Yokohama Bashamichi is Hoshino Resorts' first apartment-style hotel, designed for travellers seeking the comfort and flexibility of living like a local.
All 175 guest rooms, across nine room categories, are equipped with a kitchen and washer-dryer, making the property particularly well suited for mid to long-term stays.
Many rooms feature separate living and bedroom areas, creating a spacious, residential atmosphere for cooking, relaxing, or spending time together.
Guest room offerings include the OMO House, a 50–60 m² accommodation featuring sofas in warm nautical tones that serve as seating for one to two guests or convert into beds for up to four.
The OMO House Corner Suite offers a generous 136 m² layout with an island kitchen and three separate bedrooms, ideal for families or groups.
Interiors are modelled after a ship's cabin to evoke the excitement of a maritime journey.
Details such as leather-strap headboards and brass-coloured rails create a classic nautical atmosphere, while large windows frame ever-changing views of Yokohama from the comfort of each private “cabin.”

Inspired design
Inspired by a ship's wheelhouse, the reception area flows into the circular OMO Base, a public space offering a full panoramic view of one of Japan's most celebrated nightscapes.
Guests can enjoy cruise-like amenities, including a Play Zone with billiards and board games, a gallery showcasing the port town's culture, and a theatre screening classic films.
The OMO Base also features specialised viewing areas: the Bay View Deck, overlooking ships crossing Yokohama Port, and the Night View Deck, designed with black interiors and mirrored walls to heighten the brilliance of the city lights.
Curated experiences include “Nightscape Moments,” where guests select themed boxes from a complimentary vending machine, each containing suggestions to enhance their viewing experience.
Each evening, guests can enjoy a self-service cocktail bar and lucky draw games while immersed in the hotel's 360-degree nightscape.
In addition, the Go-KINJO service encourages exploration beyond the hotel, with OMO Rangers sharing insider tips and hidden gems through the Go-KINJO Map, allowing guests to experience the authentic charm of Yokohama's streets.
