Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, has officially opened its latest expansion, featuring 11 new slides and attractions, further solidifying its status as a leading waterpark in the region. The expansion, unveiled on 4 April 2026, includes eight new slides, two jumping platforms, and a lounging pool, all designed to offer a mix of high-energy thrills and family-friendly experiences.

The centrepiece of the expansion is Matamir’s Drop, the UAE’s tallest waterslide, where riders experience a 40-metre plunge followed by a 233-metre twisting course. Other notable additions include Sahel Matamir, a freefall racing slide, and Matamir Splash, the park’s first duelling mat racer. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the Sarab leisure pool offers a refreshing retreat.
Rayan Al Haddar, General Manager at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, stated, “The opening of our newest expansion marks a major milestone in our journey to redefine water-based entertainment in the region. It reflects our commitment to continuously elevating the guest experience through innovation and immersive attractions.”

Since its inception in 2013, Yas Waterworld has garnered over 65 industry awards and continues to be recognised as the ‘Middle East’s Leading Water Park’. The expansion not only enhances the park's offerings but also contributes to Abu Dhabi's tourism and leisure industry, attracting visitors from around the globe.
