Vietnam's first EDGE Advanced-certified eco-wellness lodges off contemporary wayfinders an all-inclusive experience

Auko Eco-Wellness Lodges announced that they are gearing up to open their doors in Phong Nha, Vietnam in the third quarter of this year.

Essentially the newest iteration of regenerative hospitality in Southeast Asia, the property is right along the Son River and embraced by the limestone peaks of the Phong Nha–Ke Bang UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the world's largest cave system.

Auko’s 30 eco tented lodges are nestled across the terrain in clusters, each framed by a canopy of indigenous planting selected for resilience, biodiversity, and beauty.

Weaving together sustainability and wellbeing

According to Michelle Ford, founder of Auko’s wellness hospitality operator Lumina Wellbeing: "Sustainability and wellbeing come hand in hand; and at Auko, our alignment is to bring a regenerative hospitality model with wellbeing at the core of everything we do. For the land, and for the people who visit it.”

This ethos is echoed in the property’s stance on responsible building, particularly within a region shaped by monsoon floods, ancient jungle, and 400-million-year-old limestone.

Developed in alignment with IFC's Building Resilience Index (BRI), the retreat features elevated bamboo bridges rising above historic flood levels, glamping structures engineered to adapt to water movement, and architecture shaped from reclaimed timber and ventilated platforms.

Three paths to holistic wellbeing

Auko organises its guest experience around three signature pathways:

  • The Open Way brings harmony with a curated rhythm of movement and stillness, adventure and restoration, community and solitude. This path invites deeper rest and gentle reconnection. Guests have the freedom to opt in open experiences, without the structure of a formal programme;
  • The Still Way is for those who arrive carrying the weight of the world and need to put it down. This path includes: guided introspective wellness and deeper transformation; and
  • The Wild Way is for those who feel most alive with active movements. This path includes dynamic wellness and off-the-beaten path adventures.

All three ways are woven into an all-inclusive stay, with three daily meals at Origin Restaurant, Auko's forest-to-table dining experience celebrating wild-foraged herbs, fresh river fish, seasonal produce, and the vibrant flavors of Central Vietnam.

Where ancient healing meets modern wellness

Drawn from the ancient practices of the Cham people, Auko's wellness philosophy is grounded in the richness of the land: mineral-rich clay, native botanicals, healing waters, and the intelligence of natural rhythm.

At the heart of this approach is Lumina Wellbeing, offering regenerative journeys shaped by the wild landscape of Phong Nha, where indigenous wisdom and earth-based rituals restore balance between body, mind, and environment.

Guests are immersed in a daily rhythm of nature-led experiences, including hydrotherapy journeys that move from Rhassoul clay immersion and forest rainfall showers to invigorating cold plunges set against dramatic limestone views.

These rituals are complemented by sound healing with indigenous instruments, primal movement practices, and moments of stillness in open-air forest decks, riverside sanctuaries, and hidden meditation caves; each space designed to deepen connection with the natural world.

Time for transformation

Beyond daily routines, Auko's evolving wellbeing calendar invites guests to engage with the cycles of nature through seasonal ceremonies such as full moon gatherings, harvest rituals, and rain-welcoming celebrations.

Rotating programmes featuring visiting practitioners and curated retreats ensures a dynamic and ever-evolving wellness offering.

Whether for a retreat host looking for a nature-immersive venue, or a purposeful company trip with the wellbeing of the team at heart, Auko provides a distinctive setting where wellbeing is both deeply personal and collectively transformative.
