Prague has been ranked 6th in the latest International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) list of top meeting destinations, maintaining its status as a leading global hub for international events. In 2025, the city hosted over 5,000 events, attracting more than 850,000 delegates, according to data from the Czech Statistical Office and the Prague Convention Bureau.
The Czech capital's meeting industry saw a notable increase in smaller events for 50 to 500 delegates, whilst also hosting significant congresses such as the 47th Congress of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism and the 25th World Congress of Psychiatry. The US, Germany, Great Britain, France, and Switzerland were the primary source markets, with international events making up 43% of the total.
To enhance its competitiveness, Prague is unifying its tourism branding, merging business travel with leisure tourism under a single identity. This rebranding effort, led by Prague City Tourism, aims to position the city as a premium destination. "A consistent, joined-up presentation is absolutely fundamental if cities want to compete on the world stage," said Tomáš Slabihoudek, Prague councillor for culture and tourism.
The new brand identity draws on Prague's rich history, featuring figures like Kepler and Einstein, to highlight the city's blend of creativity and scholarship. An international campaign, "unconventional conventions," will promote Prague as a unique setting for business events. Roman Muška, director of the Prague Convention Bureau, emphasised the importance of this initiative, stating, "Bringing the brand together helps us tell Prague’s story more effectively."
