Air Charter Scotland has reported a 98% dispatch reliability on its Wick-Aberdeen-Wick route after four months of operation, utilising the 18-seat Jetstream J32 aircraft. The airline has made minor timetable adjustments for the summer to better serve commuters, including those in the oil and gas sector and weekend travellers.
The flight schedule includes departures from Wick to Aberdeen from Monday to Thursday at 08:00, with return flights at 13:00. On Fridays, flights depart Wick at 18:00 and return from Aberdeen at 19:30. Sunday services leave Wick at 15:00 and return from Aberdeen at 16:30.
Derek Thomson, Chief Operating Officer of Air Charter Scotland, expressed gratitude to the operations and ground handling teams, as well as their partner AIS Airlines in the Netherlands, for maintaining a strong dispatch rate. "Our goal taking on this vital Public Service Obligation (PSO) route was to be consistently reliable and deliver a quality service that we are revered for in our day-to-day executive aviation activity," he stated.
Signature Aviation, a long-term partner of Air Charter Scotland, is expanding its ground services at Aberdeen Airport's Main Terminal to support the new scheduled flights. Jeremy Fish, General Manager at Signature Aviation, remarked, "This route adds essential connectivity between communities and businesses across the Highlands and Islands."
The Wick arrivals in Aberdeen are strategically timed for onward flights to London Heathrow with British Airways, Amsterdam with KLM, and Manchester with Loganair, enhancing connectivity for passengers
