TDM AWARDS - NOMINATE NOW!

This summer, the Norwalk Seaport Association and the Greens Ledge Light Preservation Society are offering a unique five-hour lighthouse cruise, inviting visitors to explore two iconic New England maritime landmarks. Scheduled for 6 June, 11 July, and 8 August, the adventure departs from Norwalk's Seaport dock at 8:30 a.m., returning by 1:30 p.m.

The journey begins with a scenic cruise through Norwalk Harbour to the Greens Ledge Lighthouse, a rare "Spark Plug" lighthouse built in 1902. Following extensive restoration, this historic site is now open to the public, featuring the Beacon Room with its active automated light, the Trombos Research Centre, and the Maclean Watch Room. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the outdoor deck, steeped in tales of pirates and buried treasure.

Next, the cruise heads to Sheffield Island Lighthouse, a Victorian-era landmark from 1868. As a National Historic Site, it offers a glimpse into 19th-century lighthouse life with restored rooms and a tower providing views extending to the Manhattan skyline. Guests can relax with a picnic in the seaside pavilion, surrounded by the island's coastal charm.

Beyond the lighthouse cruises, the Seaport Association offers a variety of seasonal activities, including daily and weekend cruises to Sheffield Island, Sunset Cruises, and Clambakes on Tuesdays in July and August. The Pirates Day festivities on 18 and 19 July promise fun for all ages. For more details, visit seaport.org
