The oneworld Alliance is set to expand its footprint at London Heathrow Airport with the addition of Alaska Airlines, which will launch a new nonstop service to Seattle on 22 May 2026. This expansion brings the total number of oneworld member airlines operating at Heathrow to 14, enhancing connectivity for millions of passengers.
Oneworld airlines will offer nearly 2,800 weekly departures from Heathrow this summer, connecting to over 160 destinations across more than 60 countries. The airport remains a pivotal hub for international travellers, with 71% of Round the World bookings including London as a stop. Last year, approximately 29 million oneworld customers travelled through Heathrow, with nearly 30% connecting between member airlines.
Oneworld CEO Ole Orvér highlighted Heathrow's significance, stating, "With service from the most oneworld carriers and nearly 400 daily departures, London Heathrow is a cornerstone of our global network." Brett Catlin, vice president of Loyalty Partnerships and International at Alaska Airlines, expressed pride in strengthening their oneworld membership, noting that London offers seamless connections across Europe and beyond.
Heathrow's Chief Customer Officer, Ross Baker, emphasised the airport's role as the UK's gateway to the world, offering passengers more choices and smoother journeys. The addition of Alaska Airlines' Seattle service further expands travel options for both leisure and business travellers.
Oneworld member airlines operate from Terminals 3, 4, and 5 at Heathrow, with the airport serving as the most served global hub for the alliance
