Alipay+, a global payment gateway under Ant International, has announced a collaboration with PVS to introduce cross-border mobile payment services for international travellers in Latin America. This initiative, unveiled on 27 May 2026, aims to facilitate seamless QR code payments for users of Alipay+ partner apps, including 50 e-wallets and banking apps, across Chile and Argentina, with plans to expand further.

The partnership is designed to support global travellers, particularly from Asia, who are exploring multiple destinations in Latin America. By integrating with PVS, a fintech company specialising in customised payment solutions, Alipay+ allows businesses to receive payments in local currency with minimal friction. This integration also offers merchants opportunities for cross-border digital engagement and marketing.

Lucio Colunga, CEO of PVS, expressed pride in the partnership, stating it offers a "familiar, secure and transparent" payment experience for Asian and European travellers. Weixiao Jiang, General Manager for North Asia and the Americas at Alipay+, highlighted the collaboration as a significant step in expanding public and private partnerships to support regional digitalisation and AI agendas.

Ant International, which averages over 20 million transactions daily, continues to expand its reach by partnering with global and local payment service providers. This includes collaborations with companies like R2 in Mexico to enhance SME financing. The initiative underscores Alipay+'s commitment to connecting global merchants with consumers through innovative payment solutions
