Tamara launches India’s first faith-intelligent hospitality brand

Tamara Leisure Experiences has unveiled Raé by Tamara, India's inaugural faith-intelligent hospitality brand, designed to transform spiritual travel into a deeply immersive experience. This innovative brand seeks to blend ritual sensitivity with contemporary hospitality across key pilgrimage sites in India, a country that hosts over 450,000 religious and cultural heritage locations.

The launch comes as India's spiritual tourism market, one of the largest globally, witnesses a surge in demand post-pandemic. With over 1.4 billion domestic visits and more than 9 million foreign tourist arrivals, spiritual tourism now accounts for more than 60% of domestic travel. Samir MC, CEO of Tamara Leisure Experiences, highlighted the shift from volume-led to experiential travel, noting the rise in mid-upscale and premium pilgrimage stays, which are growing at an estimated 20–24% compound annual growth rate.

Raé by Tamara will initially rebrand properties in Guruvayur and Kumbakonam, with new developments in Velankanni, Tirupati, Palani, and Tiruvannamalai. These destinations have been selected for their cultural significance and infrastructure readiness. The brand aims to create a cohesive ecosystem that reflects Tamara's commitment to responsible hospitality and cultural heritage.

Samir MC further explained that Raé by Tamara is not just about building hotels near places of worship but establishing a trusted system for pilgrims across all faiths. The brand plans to have around 25 properties operational by 2030, driven by the growing demand for organised, experience-led spiritual travel. Each property will offer unique features such as locally rooted companions, shrine-aligned schedules, and faith-conscious dining, ensuring a personalised and meaningful journey for modern pilgrims
