The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) has launched its first major promotional campaign in Southeast Asia, titled "WestK in Bangkok". Running from 6 to 12 July 2026, the initiative aims to promote the West Kowloon Cultural District as a leading cultural tourism destination. The campaign includes a series of events such as a travel trade luncheon and a networking dinner with business leaders, alongside a creative collaboration with Thai idol Butterbear at Siam Paragon.

The campaign underscores WKCDA's commitment to fostering partnerships with Thailand's arts, cultural, and business communities. Supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok and Invest Hong Kong, the initiative also features BTS Group as the Promotional Partner and Siam Paragon as the Venue Partner.

A highlight of the campaign is the collaboration with Butterbear, which includes creative installations at Siam Paragon. These installations offer immersive photo checkpoints and a stamp-collection activity, allowing visitors to engage with the WestK brand. Bernard Charnwut Chan, Chairman of WKCDA, stated, “Through ‘WestK in Bangkok’, we aim to demonstrate the District’s ambitious vision of becoming a world-class platform for international cultural exchange.”

The campaign also seeks to attract Thai investors by showcasing business opportunities within WestK, which spans 40 hectares along Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbourfront. With the upcoming WestK Performing Arts Centre set to open in 2027, the district will offer a total of 10 theatres, further enhancing its status as a cultural hub. Betty Fung, CEO of WKCDA, emphasised the district's role in serving not only Hong Kong but also the broader Asia region, highlighting its potential as a new cultural tourism landmark
