Vietjet has introduced Vietnam Halal Connect, a proposed industry-wide initiative aimed at making travel in Vietnam more accessible and convenient for Muslim travellers. The announcement was made at the Vietnam Halal Tourism Conference 2026, where industry leaders and government representatives discussed strategies to attract more Muslim visitors to the country.
The initiative is part of Vietjet's broader strategy to expand international connectivity and support Vietnam's tourism development. Currently, the airline operates over 135 domestic and international routes, linking Vietnam with key markets in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Central Asia, where demand for Muslim travel is on the rise.
Vietnam Halal Connect aims to improve coordination across the travel sector, enhancing the overall experience for Muslim visitors. Vietjet plans to expand Halal meal options and digital travel solutions, whilst fostering partnerships with tourism stakeholders to better serve Muslim travellers. The initiative also seeks to uphold internationally recognised Halal standards.
Ha Nang Viet, Vietjet’s Commercial Director, stated, “We see strong opportunities to strengthen Vietnam’s appeal among Muslim travellers through better connectivity and services that respond to their evolving travel needs.”
Vietnamese officials highlighted the country's strategic location and diverse tourism offerings as key factors in attracting more Muslim visitors. In 2025, Vietnam welcomed over 21 million international visitors, including approximately 600,000 Muslim travellers.
As Vietnam continues to expand its Halal tourism offerings, Vietjet is committed to improving connectivity and collaborating with industry partners to enhance the travel experience for Muslim visitors
