The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is encouraging ATOL holders to submit their renewal applications early, ahead of the September deadline, to take advantage of revised fee discounts.

The CAA has introduced a tiered discount system for complete applications received before 1 September 2026, with greater savings for those submitted by 1 August 2026. Additional discounts are available for those paying both the CAA and Air Passenger Contribution fees via Direct Debit.

ATOL, a mandatory financial protection scheme for UK travel organisers selling flight-inclusive packages, aims to safeguard consumers. The CAA's initiative is designed to streamline the renewal process and alleviate last-minute pressures on businesses and the regulator's licensing team. By submitting applications early, companies can ensure uninterrupted sales of ATOL-protected holidays from 1 October 2026.

Cecile Durand-Agbo, Head of ATOL Licensing Operations at the CAA, stated, “The availability of fee discounts means there is a clear benefit for businesses that apply early, whilst also helping to ensure a smoother renewal process across the industry. We encourage all ATOL holders due to renew in September to submit their applications in good time, to avoid any risk of disruption to their ability to trade from 1 October.”
