Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has partnered with Air Peace, Nigeria's largest airline, to enhance connectivity across Nigeria and West Africa. This interline agreement allows Etihad passengers to access 20 additional destinations beyond Lagos and Accra, using a single ticket on Air Peace's network.

The agreement includes major Nigerian cities such as Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, and Enugu, as well as regional destinations like Abidjan, Dakar, and Monrovia. This collaboration aligns with Etihad's African expansion strategy, which includes a daily service between Abu Dhabi and Lagos set to commence soon.

Arik De, Chief Commercial and Revenue Officer at Etihad Airways, emphasised the importance of Nigeria in their long-term African ambitions, stating, “This agreement gives our guests access to one of the continent's most extensive domestic and regional networks.”

Nowel Ngala, Chief Commercial Officer at Air Peace, highlighted the benefits for West African travellers, saying, “Working with Etihad Airways extends that ambition, giving our customers convenient access to Abu Dhabi on Etihad's services once the new routes begin.”

The partnership is expected to facilitate increased business and travel opportunities between the UAE and Nigeria, Africa's most populous country and a major economic hub. Combined journeys will be available for booking on Etihad's website once the agreement is in effect
