Marriott International has announced a dual agreement with Catalonia Hotels & Resorts to introduce two new all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica and Tanzania. Signed on 22 July in Barcelona, the agreement will see a Marriott Hotels All-Inclusive Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania. These developments are part of Marriott's strategy to expand its global all-inclusive portfolio.
The Montego Bay resort, expected to open in 2028, will be located on a beachfront site near Sangster International Airport. It will feature 522 rooms, 13 dining venues, three pools, a spa, and extensive meeting space. Meanwhile, the Zanzibar resort, set to open in 2027, will offer 271 guest rooms and a wellness-focused experience, including multiple swimming pools, a theatre, and a diverse culinary programme.
Laurent de Kousemaeker, Chief Development Officer for the Caribbean and Latin America at Marriott International, highlighted the significance of these agreements, stating they demonstrate the strength of Marriott's brand and its appeal to experienced owners. Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, noted that the Zanzibar resort marks an important step in Marriott's all-inclusive expansion in the EMEA region.
Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, which operates 82 hotels globally, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, citing it as a testament to their operational excellence. The collaboration aligns with Catalonia's growth strategy in strategic markets.
With 38 all-inclusive properties already open and 20 more in development, Marriott continues to strengthen its presence in key leisure destinations worldwide
