Banyan Group has announced the opening of Banyan Tree Mount Emei, a new resort located in the foothills of Mount Emei in China's Sichuan Province. This resort serves as a gateway to the Mount Emei Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its cultural and natural significance. The site is celebrated for its mist-shrouded peaks, ancient temples, and rich biodiversity.
Philip Ding, Senior Vice President of Banyan Group, highlighted Mount Emei's unique cultural and ecological value, stating, "We look forward to welcoming guests to our mountainside sanctuary as they explore this important destination at an unhurried pace."
The resort features 130 rooms and villas, each with a private outdoor hot spring pool. The design draws inspiration from traditional Sichuan courtyard homes, integrating seamlessly with the natural landscape. Guests can enjoy a range of wellness activities, including treatments at the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa, yoga sessions, and a bamboo forest trail.
Dining options at the resort include Jiayao Chinese Restaurant, which offers Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine, and Mingyue All-Day Dining, which combines Chinese and international flavours. The resort also provides over 1,200 square metres of event space, including the Xiangzhang Ballroom and the Forest Platform, ideal for meetings and celebrations.
Banyan Tree Mount Emei is conveniently located near Emeishan High-Speed Railway Station and is accessible from Chengdu's international airports. The opening of Leshan Airport later in 2026 will further enhance accessibility
