Qatar Airways has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first airline to operate a Boeing 787-9 aircraft equipped with Starlink, marking a new era in in-flight connectivity. The airline has now equipped 150 widebody aircraft with Starlink, offering passengers high-speed Wi-Fi of up to 500 Mbps, allowing them to stay connected at 35,000 feet.

The airline's ambitious Starlink rollout began in October 2024 and has already connected over 23 million passengers across 86,000 flights. With the programme surpassing 83% completion, Qatar Airways is on track to finish equipping its entire Boeing 787 fleet by the end of 2026. This follows the rapid completion of Starlink installations on its Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 fleets in nine and eight months, respectively.

Qatar Airways' Starlink-equipped aircraft offer passengers complimentary Wi-Fi through Privilege Club membership, enhancing the travel experience on long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes across six continents. The airline's commitment to innovation ensures that passengers can work, relax, or stay in touch with loved ones during their flights.

As the world's first and largest operator of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft, Qatar Airways continues to set the standard for in-flight connectivity. With up to 323 Starlink flights operating daily, the airline is making seamless onboard connectivity a staple of its global passenger experience.
